Akis (Sotirios Georgios) Panousopoulos graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2003, and in 2012 he completed his training in Surgery at A Pediatric Surgery Clinic of the University of Athens, taking the title of General Surgeon.
During the specialty, he was trained throughout the spectrum of general surgery. He dealt more with emergency surgery and intensive care, surgical oncology on the digestive tract and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
He obtained the title of Doctor of Medicine in 2010 and the title of his PhD thesis was “Prognostic and diagnostic value of tumor stromal factors and apoptotic molecules in pancreatic cancer”, receiving “Excellent” as grade.
Since 2009 he is a trainer at the basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery seminars organised by the Hellenic Surgical Society.
Since 2014 he is a scientific associate of the 6th Surgery Clinic of HYGEIA Hospital, where he participates as a speaker and head of the simulation training at the Colorectal Laparoscopic Seminars “C.LA.S.S”.
