Polyxeni (Xenia) Kizgkala graduated Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2014.

She has completed the mandatory rural service as well as 5 of the 7 years of specialization in Paediatric Surgery, at = “Attikon” University Hospital Athens (General Surgery), at. “Agia Sophia” General Children’s Hospital Athens (Children’s Surgery) and at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust (Children’s Surgery).

She is also currently a student  in the Master’s Program (Msc) ΄΄ Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Telesurgery ΄΄ of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UOA).

A warm supporter of continuing education, in 2020 she completed a clinical observership at the Department of Surgery of the Texas Children’s Hospital, covering the entire range of Paediatric Surgery as well as Fetal Surgery. Furthermore, she has completed distance learning training programs: carried out from the U.O.A. – “Principles of organization of Health Systems”, from the University of California, from the Universiteit Leiden, from Yale University and has participated in clinical workshops of Prof. Marc Levitt and the American College of Surgeons.

In 2018 she received a distinction at the 31st European Annual Congress on Surgical Infections SIS – E/Olympics Case Reports.

She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Surgeons, the Athens M.C. and GMC (UK) and has been APLS, ATLS, BLS, BPLS and GIC certified and is an APLS Instructor Candidate.
