Advanced Laparoscopic Cadaveric course in Gynae Oncology (09/24)

The training program “Advanced laparoscopy in Gynae Oncology Cadaveric Course” was designed to train gynecologists in demanding laparoscopic surgeries with an emphasis on oncology and lay the foundations for a comprehensive and continuous educational training.

The theoretical and practical part of the seminar aims at understanding and deepening the anatomy of the pelvis, improving decision-making and the safe application of the laparoscopic approach.

Each trainee will have the opportunity to improve their surgical skills by performing surgical procedures on cadaver specimens and deepen their knowledge by taking part in interactive discussions in a realistic and safe environment under the supervision of experienced Gynecologic Oncologists.

The seminar is organized by Johnson & Jonhson Hellas, is implemented and scientifically supported by the Node Institute under the auspices of the 2nd Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the Aretei Hospital.”

Day 2 | Cadaveric dissection | September 15, 2024

Station 1 & 2

  1. Opening of retroperitoneum and identification of external iliac vessels and ureters
  2. Identification of obliterated umbilical, uterine artey, lateral pararectal and Para vesical spaces
  3. Identification of medial pararectal or Okabayasi space and hypogastric plexus
  4. Reflection of bladder and identification of Yabuki space.

10:30 – 12:30

Station 1 & 2

  1. Obturator fossa and obturator nerve
  2. Pelvic lymph node dissection. Demonstration of typical sentinel lymph node position
  3. Common iliac lymph node dissection
  4. Development of ureteric canal

  1. Ligation of ovarian and uterine vessels
  2. Hysterectomy and suturing of the vaginal vault.
  3. Development of paraaortic space
  4. Paraaortic lymphadenectomy
