TaTME Cadaveric Course for Surgery of the Rectum (09/24)
Event Navigation
The Transanal total mesorectal excision – TaTME is currently, the most innovative surgical procedure for rectal cancer. Consequently, there is a continuously increasing demand from colorectal surgeons, for TaTME training. The ideal training platform is through cadaveric dissection courses.
The NoDE Institute’s Cadaveric Dissection TaTME Courses consist of a structured program that includes detailed description of the operation through live or unedited videoed TaTME procedures, with emphasis on how to succeed and what to avoid in the process. Subsequently, trainees have the opportunity to perform a TaTME on fresh-frozen cadavers*, in an actual operating-room setting.
The seminars are completed in 2 days.
The first day includes explaining the times of the operation via live TaTME surgery or the entire taped operation.
On the second day, the trainees perform the same operation on fresh frozen cadavers* with step-by-step guidance.
For every two trainees a cadaver, a proctor and an operating theater are assigned.
Upon completion of the seminar, surgeons will be able to recognize TaTME preparation plans, avoid complications from injury to adjacent anatomical structures, and complete rectal resection in an oncologically sound manner.
